Caliper Studios is producing a fresh new line of one of a kind fountain pens. This company is the brain child of Joseph Cali, retired architectural designer, accomplished and acclaimed artist, scupturer and avid pen collector.

The pens in this collection are Mr. Cali's latest venture as a manufacturer. It all started with a dream and the lathe he received as a gift. Mr. Cali sketches out shapes of the caps and barrels, then tinkers with the materials, maps out his color schemes and puts his designs to the test. Each instrument is hand made, from beginning to end. Each piece is weight tested for balance and ease of use. Each of them are unique in design and materials.

The design aspect of each pen is what has sparked Mr. Cali to fulfill his dream. His background as a visual artist with painitngs and charcoals on display at places like the Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Modern Art, the Fort Worth Modern Art Museum and Kohinoor Museum and Wagner College, have fortified his confidence to pursue his passion. With each new finished product comes the satisfaction that the product is the best possible quality, design and function. The pens are made of acrylics, seasoned celluloids, industrial plastics with the look and feel of hard rubber, ivory and marbleized plastics, from both here and abroad.

Each pen is presented with either a 14kt gold vintage nib and feed giving it the look and feel of years gone by, or the modern 14 and 18kt gold nibs used today in modern pen manufacturing.
